Love your forum and realize I cannot ask for how to bypass security...bios but hope someone can offer other solution.

what happened is my new (only days old) & first ever... laptop froze up while my grandson was playing a game... he then tried to fix it when the screen gave him that option.

so when i finally got it fixed with tech support help I decided to put in a password when i found it under the e-powered options...

at the time i was also loading in some software for my camera.

Then when i restarted the computer it asked for a password.

It does not seem to take the password I used.
It is a password i have been using for a long time and i don't think I could have it wrong. Have tried for hours to get it.. even with nothing or with caps on ...

Is it possible there is two different passwords without changing the screen

& why will it not even boot into windows without it if it is a bios password.

I am hoping to fix it... but will be taking it back when the store opens in new year...but that is in like 8 days... hope they can fix it as i really like the laptop from what I got to use it.

Tech support said it would cost to have it fixed if the password is lost.

Aside from taking the issue to the manufacturer for a solution, we're not allowed to any other option here, due to legal issues.

This thread will most likely be closed.

Edit: Just to note, the store you bought it at most likely won't be able to reset the password, since BIOS passwords are meant to be as secure as possible, and there isn't a quick-fix for a BIOS password.

I'm sorry but I cannot allow password related discussion as it is strongly prohibited by the forum rules.

    This thread is now closed.
