    any one fitted a mini pci card to a travelmate 242lc........is it easy or am i going to have problems?

    Does your notebook already have one installed? Because, if it does, then you can replace it.

    Well, I'm not sure that your laptop can even use a mini-PCI card, because I don't see it listed anywhere as coming with one.

    You would be better off getting an external PCMCIA wireless card, because you would get much better reception that way. Since your laptop didn't come with a WLAN chip installed, the antenna will not be there, and it is critical that you have that antanna for range. It's not user-replacable as far as I know.

    Linksys and Netgear make nice external cards. Belkin sucks.
