i bought it and it fits. but everytime it boots i just get bsod. that means the processor is right for the laptop, but it is damaged right? seller told me that the t9300 is incompatible with gm965 chipsets. is this any true?

GM965 is on the list of compatible chipsets for T9300.

The sockets are no different. My 5720G (PM965, like the 6920G - GM965 is only in the non-G version of 6920) is happily running with a T9300. The T9400 is not compatible, though (has 1066MHz FSB, which is hardware-disabled in PM/GM965 chipsets).

ok! i have another question, i have put another processor which was a x7900 it was too much for the laptop so i send it back. but it only worked with one core enabled. every time i try to boot up the laptop with both it just freezed or shuted down on startup screen. does the socket (the thing that holds the cpu) can it get damaged too? with the original one i can use the laptop only with both cores disabled and with the battery only. with this t9300 i couldnt get to safe mode, so i understand its damaged. already send it back.

i dont think the socket holder can be damaged unless its physical damage

    x7900 is an expensive
but you have kinda proved it works with 1 core

i think the X9000 works fine

the only bad thing is the tdp, makes the laptop overheat fast. im just wondering why the cores of the t5550 original one stopped working :S

I'm almost sure that is the problem then.

1.02 presumably doesn't yet contain microcode for 45nm CPUs.

whattttttt O.O so i must install that bios version..... but it says i need to have the ac connected but with the original processor i cant use it shuts down when connected... i can use the laptop only with the battery :( can i install it on battey mode? oh by the t5550 which is the current i have is 65nm the x7900 too. so the reason my t9300 didnt worked was that? 45nm?

edit: i remember that in the bios settings it recognized the t9300. would i have to go tru the bios update anyways?

The BIOS may recognize the T9300 in name (as the CPU itself contains a name string specifying its own name), but that doesn't mean that microcode is also present.

I don't know, perhaps from DOS you can. As for WinPhlash, no idea. Insyde's Windows flasher has an option to disable battery check, but I don't know if WinPhlash also has one.
