there are probably more laptop that would meet your needs.
for now i see you have chosen only 15.4" laptops. maybe a smaller one would do the same job, and it would even be much lighter than a 15.4".

how about filling the faq in the "what notebook should i buy" section

The Acer is geared more towards consumers, while the Vostro is a business-class notebook and can take more abuse than the Acer.

Acer still has a ways to go when it comes to build quality, but my aunt's 5570Z felt pretty solid with no flex when held up by the corner. The keyboard had some flex, as did the screen, but those were my only qualms with it.

Filling out the FAQs and listing the full specifications of the laptops in question could help a bit more.

I have a 5920 (not a "G" version) and I like it but it's my first lappy so I don't have much to go on.
Can tell you one thing that's bugging me. The keys are not hard and shiny. They've got just the slightest amount of texture to them. And the keyboard is not metallic or black, it's sort of an ivory color.
I like the feel of the keys and the action seems pretty good but that texture makes them dirt magnets. The keys that get used the most start looking grubby very quickly. So far a little bit of 409 spritzed onto a paper towel appears to get them back to "like new" but I worry that the grubbiness will be permanent sooner or later.

touch the horrid keyboard and its touchpad , you will see how horrible the cheap **** can be .

And you know why it is cheap and discounted so so so heavily compared to all others , cause if an Acer priced the same as others , nobody buys it.

Face the fact if the 5920G or whatver is priced 3000US like Thinkpad t , any one still buy it?

Of course not , Acer means cheap bargain toy nothing else.

I think we need to protect naive consumers getting ripped by ACER .

We dont need any more victims of this cappy company.

I hope I will be the last one ...........

Just get the Dell , the build is completely different and it is as cheap as most of Acer Travel-MAte crappies.

    cappy company. bargain toy etc.

Who are you to judge? What gives you the right to condemn Acer?

You probably believe the negative Acer cap you read. You have probably never owned one so shut up. Please.

Experience counts. Not loose, foolish, unqualified judgement of a product you don't know.

lol your both funny, I have owned 3...

AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ACER AGAIN!!! there quality is below par, and WHEN it does break, have fun with my 'friends' at acer! (most are real dicks!)

    ... MY aCER history...
    Acer Ferrari 5000
5 repairs, after I DEMANDED a replacement before that last 3 repairs they finally did... I got the 'new-reconditioned' at the end of October 2007... my 'carbon fiber' lid is currently being held on my duct tape... why? because it FELL OFF my 3000$ laptop!

    old aspire 3500
case fell apart after 10 months, then the hard disk failed 6 months later.

IF, acer had better support towards me and many other, I wouldn't be so hard on them, I guess you get what you pay for... nothing
