First of all, which BIOS do you have - phoenix, award or other? Second, describe the sound and period of the beeps. For example, one short, two long, one short, two long and so on. Usually, beeping sound indicates problems with hardware.

1-1-1-1 doesn`t exist in phoenix bioses, but, on the web is written, that some users have posted this code. Usually - this is a problem with RAM. Try to replace your ram, if it is not soldered on the motherboard. Or, if you have two or more plates of RAM, try to boot only with one of them if first slot. Off course, shut down the laptop before you unplug the RAM sticks.
