I would contact Acer and they can send you the restore DVD's. I heard of someone else that contacted Acer and they sent him the DVD's at no cost. When I bought my laptop Comp USa offered to make me the restore Dvd's for 49.

Where are you trying to use those DVD's? Don't try to run them from inside windows by executing the recovery exe. Put disc 1 into the notebook and then restart it will boot to the recovery console and carry out the recovery that way. There may also be an error somewhere on that disc but I would have no way of telling you this.

Also if you have not deleted the recovery partition on the hard drive, go into the bios at the POST screen (first screen you see that has acer written on it press F2) and enable D2D recovery in the Bios (if it isn't already enabled) also set the DVD drive to be the first boot device (this is just incase the hidden partition doesn't work) save the configurations in the Bios. Then just press ALT+F10 at the POST screen and it will boot into the e-recovery console and allow you to recover windows, if that fails then put in disc 1 of the recovery discs and restart the notebook it will also then boot to the recovery console.

If you contact acer about this they will take a while to respond to you(a few days atleast) as I have found that their tech people are not as fast as other manufacturers :(.
