Hello everyone, I have a 6930G and I'm trying to figure out how to disable a hard drive in my BIOs. The instructions on the side say to press SHIFT+1 to disable or re-enable a device. But when I press it nothing happens.
    What can I do?

I just upgraded to the latest BIOs 3238 from 11/17/09 and I still can't disable devices.

Have you tried the Device Manager (control panel) in Windows? When you right click the hard drive you want to disable, a 'Disable' option appears unless the hard drive is locked or is the primary. In that case, you can just uninstall it.
I guess the hard drive is internal, right?
Where did you find the Shift + 1 instruction?
I am also thinking of doing the BIOS upgrade but the last time I did the 3236 update my laptop crashed. Unfortunately, there is no release notes, but do you see any difference?

    Thanks for your reply.
I am aware of the Device Manager, however I wanted to disable the drive at a deeper level. Actually for a pre-windows configuration.

I contacted support about it, however they respond that this level of support is too advanced for them.
I see no change in the current BIOs upgrade.
