That laptop should run Guild Wars EASILY with no problem at all. I have the 6920 with a lower end video card and it runs great at max settings.

I think you need to flash your bios (with the new version) properly first so that you can start off on the right foot first. Get the latest version and flash it and make sure there are no errors. Then move on to installing the OS and drivers.

Once your OS is installed then use the drivers on Acers website first. The version they have listed for Vista 32bit is: "nVidia VGA Driver 7.15.11.119" MAKE ABSOLUTE POSITIVE YOU GET THE ONE FOR "Windows Vista" because they have 4 different VGA drivers listed for that model.

If you already have your BIOS and OS installed (and working properly) then try going to Control Panel > Device Manager and removing everything under Display Adapter. Then reboot. This will cause Vista to start using a generic driver that should get you into the OS in 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution and from there you can install the nVidia Drivers.

If you cant get into Windows at all (or at least if you cant see anything after Windows boots) then you need to go in under Safe Mode. Press F8 just before Windows starts to load (right after the BIOS boot screen, before the Windows Logo screen) and you will be presented with a menu, select Safe Mode and that should get you in under the generic vga driver. From there you need to uninstall whatever is listed under Display Adapters (in Device Manager), reboot and then install the nVidia driver.

If you get your lappie to boot again, get these drivers: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20331

They are recent (v. 176.37 19-8-2008) and the most stable drivers I've used so far. These are official Acer drivers, so you won't to deal with modding the driver. Just press the download button and install.

The drivers AaronCW pointed you to are very old and I do not recommend them (lots of bugs in games, less performance, etc)

I haven't encountered any problems with these so far.

What was the BIOS version that presented problems for you?

    Regards,

    Mike
