Hi. I just opened up a new 4730Z out of the box. Configured vista and now im doing some light downloading on it, but the fan keeps going on and off. it cycles ever 30 seconds or so. on and then off. I tried changing the power plan to high performance, balanced, and power saver modes, but it has made no difference.

I imagine modifying when the fan comes on could be kind of hard. but this on and off cycling is more annoying than anything.

anyone know how to fix this problem?

should i contact acer about it?

You can check what temps your computer is reaching by using HWMonitor. I imagine the CPU temperature is going up and down...

the cpu cores are fluctuating between 51C to 57C. Isnt that pretty hot? The Fan has been running pretty steady for the past 20minutes or so. so thats good news.
