    hi guys,

im trying to use my webcam through yahoo messenger but im just seeing black screen. as per yahoo's instruction, i downloaded a file named amcap.exe and run it in my computer. here's the instruction

Double-click the amcap.exe file on your desktop.
If you have more than one webcam installed, click the Devices menu and select the one you want to use.
Click the Options menu, then click “Video capture Pin.”
Under “Color Space/Compression:”, choose one of the following formats:
    RGB 24 (our recommendation)
    I420
    IYUV
Note: If one of the options above isn’t in the list, then your webcam is not compatible with Yahoo! Messenger.

Under “Output Size”, choose one of the following:
    160 x 120
    320 x 240
Note: If one of the options above isn’t in the list, then your webcam is not compatible with Yahoo! Messenger.

since i dont have those options does it means that i'll not be able to use my webcam using ym. do you guys know if theres any patch or drivers i need to install to make it work. please help :( TIA

Was XP pro native or did you erase Vista and install it? If so, you likely need the right drivers.

If XP pro was native install from Acer run a diagnostic. I found my ports shut off due to a power saving mode configuration.
