    am trying to replace the dvd drive. but don't see any screws or latches that would release the drive. the user guides from acer's site are a complete waste. any help is appreciated.

    I think you'll have to open up the notebook by removing the screws from the back. I have a memory card stuck in my slot,so when I open mine I can show you how it looks. But it might be different from the 5672WLMi that I own(mine's slot loading).
