    Greetings folks,

I've had my notebook now for almost a year now (aspire 2012WLmi) without any problems whatsoever. However, within the last few weeks i've noticed the fan comes on quite frequently, much more than at any time since i've had it. Even while i type this message, firefox being the only open program running, the fan has come on once for about 10 seconds. Anyone else had such an issue with the same computer (or any other notebook for that matter)? I'm curious, and concerned that my baby is sick. I was thinking that perhaps the 'fan-filter' is dirty or something, but i really have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts or possible warning signs would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks,

    todd

I have the same problem. I don't know what's causing it.
Perhaps it's connected to a much more serious problem that I can't fix with my 2012WLMI. When it resumes after hibernation, it often enters a state in which it becomes unbearably slow, with explorer.exe or winlogon.exe or some other process taking almost 100% cpu time. It stays at 100% cpu for about 4 minutes and 20 seconds, then it goes back to normal, only to do all this again after a couple of minutes, repeatedly.
Given the regularity of 4'20" I'm thinking it's some network timeout weirdness, however, it triggers after coming back from hibernation, so it could be the acpi also ?
