i have an old acer I'd like to squeeze a bit more life out of. It's a 2nd computer and had a few problems but would be good to last a bit longer if I can, seeing as it's not lasted as long as other, older laptops I have had.

to replace the sdd i need to confirm the following:

sata controller - will it allow Sdd to run at sata II speed or only sata I ?
the service manual suggests only sata I is possible (up to 150 MB/s - pls see image attached), however, using HWinfo I find it reported as Sata II (up to 3.0 Gbps)

    max sdd size
the service manual suggests 80gb is the highest it can take (pls see image attached). what can I expect to happen if i aimed for a higher size - data corruption perhaps, or is there a method whereby e.g. a 128gb drive might work?

    thanks
