so i managed to break the headphone jack on my aspire 5601 by yanking the headphone cable pretty hard; interestingly, headphones are fine -- the jack isn't.

i'm about to schedule warranty service with acer and have a couple questions:

    1) how long does it generally take from shipping the notebook to getting it back from acer for such service? their site says i should ship it to their temple, tx service center.

    2) during the service request process on their site, the final step asks you to schedule fedex pick-up. i'm unable to complete this step due to an error on the site/server. just curious if this is supposed to *just* schedule the pick-up or also give out a free shipping label?

thanks a lot for any info.

I am not sure about the turnaround for sending an entire notebook, but the FedEx shipping should be on Acer (meaning free).

    thanks!

i was confused because i was able to schedule fedex pick-up and was emailed a tracking number but there was no label. called acer and they said the driver will have the label...

just a heads up in case anyone encounters the same situation.
