getting it is impossible since links uploaded by users earlier have expired....wud advise u to goto ur local acer shop and request them for a manual since they have registered access to the acer's ftp site....
or u cud search on google and there is one site where u wud have to pay to get registered and they wud give u the service manual....

ok lads i must say a big thanks again for all the help.

but heres the story so far.

installed Realtek Driver R1.95 Rebooted the laptop it found new hardware Modem went to device Manager Updated The driver With foxconn conexant Modem driver 7.580.All Seemed to Install ok As When I look at the Modem driver Installed it says.HDAUDIOsoft92 data and fax modem with smartcp.
when i look under system devices UAA bus driver for high definition it says that these devices are working.
but still as before no audio. when i go to control panel audio and sounds it says no audio device.

Still banging my head against a wall is ther any possible way of checking if its a fault on the motherboard.nerver had a problem like this before on any laptop always managed to install drives without any problems.

might be easier to RELOAD XP
    update to SP2..

then install the NEW sound driver....

    then reboot..

then follow order of driver installation listed at SOULPASS

leave the modem till last (or right before the Camera driver)

also do you have the LAUNCH MANAGER installed?? when pressing the VOL + icon does the GREEN volume BAR show it increasing,, or decreasing when pressing VOL -??

that SOUND DRIVER has to be installed FIRST before anyother drivers or else for some strange reason you will have one hell of a time getting it to work!!

INSTALL SP3 last.... not until after all the drivers are installed..

i've reloaded many times and have had no problems after figuring out the sound thing.... and finding a modem driver that actually works

you have your RESTORE DISKS correct?

might have to reinstall VISTA from restore disks

just to verify that it is not a hardware issue

Yeah try to do that. If you manage and still there is no sound its a HW problem, if you have sound check what soundcard installs Vista..although it has to be RealTek..

Ok go to Start->Run, type dxdiag the press 'enter'. Answer 'OK' when asked. Go to 'Sound'. Do the DirectSound Test. Let me know what happens.

It will be nice to make a screenshot of the 'Sound' section and post it here.

    ok done m8.
    this is what it says.

no sound card was found if one is expected you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

This is with RealTek drivers installed?

By the way in addition to the RealTek drivers you should have 'Microsoft High Definition Driver Package' installed too, KB888111 or something like that, check the Add/Remove Programs.

has the laptop been taken apart lately ?
i had a problem like this after an upgrade.
i had managed to put the speaker leads on the wrong way round.why this should be i don't know.
you need to get your hands on an old set of drivers as old as you can.
    then scan for hardware changes,
im using Ver 5.10.0.5282........there is a newer version out there but i lost all sound on the update and there is a patch from microsoft for the realtek HD AUDIO.

Hi I Cant Thank Everyone Enough For All The Help And Support They Have Given Me.

i have found out what was causing the problem after days of trying all kinds of drivers i decided to strip the laptop down to have a look and found the Realtek Chip RMC-ALC883 was Broken off the the mother board so its quite clear that some else has tried to repair it before i aquired it.
the only sad thing about it whoever tried to repair it has messed up all the solder tracks so left with no other option to use it without audio.

So once Again I Thank Everone For All The Kind Help.

does anyone know if any external audio device can be attached to listen music radio ect.

Good job @paddyboy. Yes, I'm pretty sure you could buy an external USB soundcard(which by the way will be way better than RealTek) and use it like a normal soundcard. There are some good ones for 40-50$(USA). I was thinking to buy one of these but the prices here are way too high. For a decent USB soundcard here I have to spend around 100$..

It's really hard to find a decent CHEAP external soundcard and you should follow BigO's advice and post for this in the HARDWARE forum. Post your problem with the RealTek chip too, just in case, although I don't think this should be a problem.
