acer empower technolog for acer aspire 5920g has a lot of problems with other software programs

i buyed a acer aspire 5920g and there where software preinstalled like,(norton internet security 2007,acer empower techn(enet,edata,epower,acer games etc...)windows vista home premium,

when i first started my acer aspire

acer lauch programs starts to install components of acer software

its says acer empower technology work the best and in fact only with norton anti virus. is this true???

because when i remove norton and all the components with norton remove tool, and install nod32 antivirus i get the blue screen that say there are software or hardware installed that may cause problems wit your pc.
and when i install avast anti virus the acer wifi connection is automatic turned off, and i have to swith it on evertime the same with avg etcc...
also my system will freeze sometimes,if i dont use my pc for 4 hours.

so my question is with other antivirus works with acer empower ?
what software programs works with acer aspire? 5920g

becaus i am really stressing out with these problems

i have seen my friends using acer 4920g, one of them got crash after installing NOD32, the empowering technology doesn't work anymore, so he installed norton. Another one uses nod32 and he doesn't get any crashes.

 

do you know what i have to do?
if i put back norton then the system is really slow takes a lot of memory ram.

a other question what if i install avast or other antivirus software on my hardisk D: because i have like 60 gb availeble
and on my hardisk c: is 34 gb free space availeble of 60 gb

does that make my acer go faster. if i save downloaded software on my d: drive(harddisk)?

 

i was having problems auto connecting to my school's wireless and my school's tech guys deleted norton and acer eNET management. but now i can't run any of the remaning acer empowering programs and my network menus all freeze when i get to it. so it seems like the common thread here is maybe its only good with norton, and to keep the acer tools?

I have Aspire 9302WSMi and I was upgrading XP to Vista Home Premium...I uninstall all Acer programs-Empowering and Norton Antivirus...Vista works fine with power menagement and I have Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic and I have not problems ...You can try this combination on Your Acer model I think this will works fine...

i am guessing that the empowering software uses some components of Norton? because the erecovery is like Ghost...

I have uninstalled immediately the demo version of NAV when i got my 5920G. I didnt have any issue with Empower tech what so ever. I have then tried KAV and NOD32. NOD32 is problematic so i had to throw it out. Now i have NIS 2007. I do not find any speed issue with my vista home prem. ITs smooth as ever.

 

I have a new Extensa 5620G with Windows XP Pro (factory-shipped).

I ripped Norton off (POS) and installed NOD32 2.70.39. Works flawlessly (as expected), alongside all-else on my Extensa, including Emp.Tech.

No probs.

 

I had the same issue. But i didnt think it this way. The system used to continously crash when i installed BitDefender. One to two reinstalls later i found out that it just wont go along with something somewhere in the system. Best option was to try something else. Now i run Avast antivirus with no issues at all.

Besides, i loved having Norton on the machine. It actually went away after the 6 month version expired.

 

well i finally solved a lot of the problems that i had before with acer empowr technology software against other software like anti-virus software etc....

this is what i did (steps)

1. i unchecked in msconfig ,at services (i disabled edata,elock,esettings,)
2. i used windows tweak tips to disable the tmm(its if you start up your pc is looking for external monitors)
3.i i also downloaded start up inspector to check out what programs is starting that you don't use and is good for infomation to learn what kind a programs is and does
(i had problems with start inspector i can't uncheck start ups programs)
i will gett a error that say something have to do with (C:Acer VCM)
4. i uninstalled nti-cd,dvdmaker its was like 40mb ( i used nero 8 instead easier to use )
5.download windows tweak programs better then start inspector)trial 30 days
6. i turn on my windows network management of vista and i had no problems more with wifi off and onn problemss, i dont have slow performce anymore by start up, i download more software that i use( normally i cant download 2 software programs . without slowdowns and chrashes

you turn on windows managment ( at network and shared files) or at windows welcome center (connect to internet)

turn off and disabled enet if its connected to internet

you have to choose configuration intenet setup
1. you can choos adhoc (computer to computer) connection it have to be 9 meter distance for wifi signal.

2. i used other option that is manuel internet connection
you see name of wlan put the name
if you have wep put also the code of router

my avast is working great no errors nothing

and i played also halo 2 games its working fast

frostin heres a tip to use windows vista network management.

go to welcome center choose connect to internet ,2. configuration setup internet connection. choose manuel connection or adhoc computer to computer network. if you have wep fill it in and code nr.

thats it but you have to disable acer wifi the enet at services

 

do somebody know which torrent is works on vista or how to open the right port for faster download
