I am also a college student in need of laptop, just got 3201 for abou a week and i am quite hapy with it. it's got great looks, slim and light, prefect size between desktop replacement and portable laptop. The battery is at max 4 hours with lowest settings, but then i have wireless on all day long so the number is more like 3 hr. The touchpad is kinda rectangleish, so it took a little getting used to. Like many other users said, the mouse buttons r little too loud for my taste, but thats not really a problem as i am used to tap-click anyway. Over all a great laptop to bring around on campus and serves a pretty decent job as desktop replacement as well.

    Arjung,

No, the Acer 4501 only has a 10/100 Ethernet LAN port. Newegg is known to cut & paste wrong info for their descriptions. Here's the link to Acer's US site. Unless Acer US is incorrect, it should only be 10/100.

    http://us.acer.com/acerpanam/page9.do?dau34.oid=5570&UserCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=25&ctx1=PA&crc=888567221

Yes, GbE is for Gigabit Ethernet Lan.
