Do you guys know what part number corresponds to an acer battery ? More specifically an AS07B31 produced by SANYO .

I want to buy one and everywhere i look it says part number AC_LC.BT........( in my country)

Also do you know where i can find this kind of battery ( AS07B31 produced by SANYO not by any other guys) on the internet-websites or something .

Let's take this site for example : http://www.zandparts.com/acer/index.php?cPath=561_562_21150_21206

    what's the difference between those batteries ( 4 - 6 cell (between these 4 ) and 4-8cell ( between these 4))?

if i wasn't supposed to post that site, my apologies

    Hi

I can help you on few of your points

Acer will have different part numbers for each different voltage /power specification and each different cell supplier. The latter is good sense for tracking failure rates etc and also essential for recalls.

On the page you posted the manufacturers of the CELLS in some of the 8 cell batteries are quite clear, Panasonic, Sanyo and Sony. All good makers - nothing to choose between them in my view. They will all have been assembled elsewhere so dont think your BATTERY is from Sony even if the cells inside are.

6 Cells they are not as helpful but we can speculate a number of suppliers. If you are buying genuine acer parts from a stockist they can check the labels which always have the cell type and maker name listed again for recall purposes.

Finally 6 cell batteries (e.g. two strings of 3 2200mAh cells connected in parallel) and 8 Cell (e.g. two strings of 4 2200mAh connected in parallel) are different becasue the 4 in a string variety will have a voltage around 15V while the 3 in a string variety will have a voltage around 11V If the same cells are used as in my example then there will be 33% more Energy (Wh) stored inthe 8 cells than in 6, and the laptop can use that power for extra operating time. As your laptop is listed as being compatabile with either just decide if you want more cost/weight (and sometimes size) by going for 8 cell or vice versa. The compatable battery manufacturers tend to only clone the smaller of the options though as they sell on cost not spec.

If looking at compatable batteries just remember they will use whatever cells they can lay their hands on at a good price, often this means the nominal voltage varies a bit (not a huge problem) but it does mean that the capacity is a bit of a lottery. Even if cheap cells came in a box or lable saying 2200 they could be less.

Some cheap replacement batteries make amazing claims of having vastly more capacity than the original battery. What this sort of exagerated claim means for the construction/reliability/actual capacity is open to debate.

ok, so i have a few questions, again, regarding the batteries for as6920g .

where can i find a document stating that this laptop is compatible with both 6 cells 4400mAh 11.1v and 8 cells 4800mAh 14.8v .

I asked a computer shop for compatible batteries for as6920g and they gave me these part#
    BT.00603.042
    BATTERY.LI-ION.6C.4K4mAH

    BT.00805.011
BATTERY.LI-ION.8C.4K8mAH.PAN ( pan stands for panasonic cells )

are these batteries compatible with my model ?

won't using 14.8v instead of 11.1 damage the laptops internal power controller ?
