OK i have an aspire 5630 which i bought from Canada then brought it to Mexico, the hdd got messed up, after several tries i got it to work now i just installed win xp pro ( not with the recovery cd since i dont have one) after installing all drivers everything works fine but the camera, device manager shows that there is a camera but when i load the software i get the message that the camera is unplugged also I'm not sure but i believe there is a blue tooth device which is also not being recognized before i had the issues and just before it let me install the OS there was a led turning on and off with the switch now after everything is installed that led does not turn on anymore and the computer tells me that there is no bluetooth device can anyone help me

I'm out of breath after reading that.

Let me make sure I understand.
When you plug in your camera, the computer tells you the device is unplugged?
You have a bluetooth device? Did you download and insstall the drivers for it?

OK the camera is a built in now the problem is solved but the issue was that the drivers from the acer support site were not installing the camera properly but then i downloaded the latest logitech software and it worked perfectly

now about the blue tooth I'm not pretty sure if it actually has the device since there is no unrecognized devices in the device manager, the reason i think there might be BT is because there is a switch in the laptop to turn it on and off which used to light up but now after installing everything doesn't light up any more by the way i just installed the launch manager and when i move the switch it tells me no BT device but what i don't understand is why would there be a switch for something thats not there

if you can remember of turning and using your bluetooth on before, then there is a possibility that there is one. but other than that you dont have one. i have an acer aspire 5570 with a bluetooth switch but no bluetooth. and getting an original bluetooth from acer cost me more than to buy a bluetooth dongle. i believed there are 2 kinds of bluetooth drivers aside from acer website. one is widcomm and the other is toshiba or the other one is a blue soleil driver which have a horrible driver and application. there is also a hacked driver for that logitech camera that i found on some some site but cant seem to remeber it.

most of the acer models are bult in the same chassis, this includes the wireless button and logo! 80% of acer models, dont come equiped with bluetooth, but still have the bluetooth logo and button - that even presses down correctly - at the front or on the power bezel.

You might want to run Eida or Everest - free appz on the net - to see if your acer actually has bluetooth installed.

ok here is the thing whenever you install winxp control panel only shows configuration utilitis for whatever hardware you have installed right? not pretty sure but thats what i think since wireless conf doesnt show untill you install the wireless adapter properly before the control panel use to show the configuration for blutooth thats why i beleived there was a BT adapter anyway im going to ty that everest or eida to see what i get thanks anyway for your help by the way when i install the orbicam i used the software downloaded from logitech but i had to i nstall only the drivers from acer site i actually already reinstalled my lap again did that again and worked perfectly
