i dropped my netbook last night and cracked the left hinge. the hinge itself actually seems like a two piece and snapped back together, however it looks like it completely broke off the body.

the netbook looks like it still works, but im wondering what my options are, if any?

im assuming the standard acer warranty doesn't cover this...is it worth trying to fix myself, or is that even possible? should i just pray it keeps working and just hope for the best?

You're right in that the warranty won't cover physical damage from accidents. You're best bet is to either fix it yourself or just pray it works as long as it can before you can buy another one.

You may be able to get parts off eBay (i.e. 1410 parts).
This is more common for LCD screens and keyboards.

I've replaced both in my still-relatively-new Acer 1810T already. The keyboard with a US-language one ($10), and the LCD to fix a cracked LCD ($110), as I accidentally dropped it already  albiet inside its Neoprene case, so only the glass got cracked.

Another option is to purchase a new one.
    Swap the hard drives.
Then sell your damaged machine on eBay. (with full disclosure & photos)
Lots of folks are looking for components because it is a relatively new & very popular series.
You might get a very good price.
