    Hello guys.

i've been here for a while to search some edited bioses and "howtos"

i've stumbled on the following problem:

i have a acer aspire Z5610, it has a 4670 mobility build in which was working.

if you google "z5610 unexpected shutdown" you will see this model had some sort of bug with this model GPU which will shutdown the pc for no reason, around 50 degrees.

so i flashed the bios of that card. using atiwinflash which leaded to a nice red brick.

now i have just recieved my 6770M from ebay without EEPROM chip, so i got a error code (1 long 3 short) so i knew my GPU was faulty, i came on this forum and tried the vBios to sBios mod, which worked perfectly.

computer now boots, however im recieving a black screen! it doesnt light up! this screen issue happend after i flashed my 4670 mobility using winatiflash and rebooted.

is there any way to get the display back? to computer boots but no output signal.. it doesnt even light up the backlight, when i do maintance i always put the inverter in a safe place so i doubt this is the problem..

could it be a bios whitelist? i searched the bios files using HxD but nothing came up... it only said something about intel VGA in phoenix editor however i do not have any kind of IGP (not selectable in bios)

also i dont have any kind of HDMI or VGA out.

what are my options i have here? i hae pay'd 80 pounds for this card and i feel really sad...

i already made sure all cables are connected on the motherboard (duh)

here is the original unedited Mobility 4670 bios:

    View attachment bios.zip

if you open it with hexedit you see its device ID alot more then the 6770M id found here

    View attachment OPROM02.zip

    Hi,

I was wondering if you have solved your problem and maybe you could help mE out with mine.

For the exact same reason as you mentioned yourself 'unexpected shutdown' etc. I would also like to replace mine ATI MXM card.

But to be honest I have no idea with which type I can replace it with. Plus I don't quite understand what happened to your card, is it not working because you modified something or is that particular card (6670M) not compatible with the Acer Aspire Z5610?

I'm not a gamer all I care about being able to watch FULL HD movies, youtube and stream website thats it.

Could you please advice mE  with which cards can I replace my graphics card?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Qasim

Hi guys, I tried the same upgrade on my aspire 8935g, I had it almost working but the gddr5 - ram was faulty, I could install drivers, play, but graphics bugs increased over time and after an hour or so everything crashes.

I got another card from glbargain (ebay) and now have your issues, system seems to boot but screen stays black.

Can you tell me where you bought your cards? I start believe that this guy sells crappy cards, maybe u bought there, too?

People, can you post here a link, that leads to the seller?

It seems that vBIOS integrated in sBIOS is not compatible with acer systems. HP and DELL shell work fine, for example. You should ask valuxin for assistance.
