Okay, seriously. I need to clarify some few simple things about win7 x64 and 4810TG with su9400 and HD4330.
The batterylife sucks. Up to 3 hours maximum.
Seems like the automatic graphic-switch does not work. I play CS:Source with 20fps with everything on low.
    HDMI does not work.

Yeah. I hope I can get a quick answer, and I think there is a solution to all of my problems, but I can't find any.

I don't understand the question, are you asking why all this is happening?

You probably need to upgrade the drivers. As for your power issue, win 7 lets you choose different profiles. Make sure you have power saver selected if you are running on battery

joelkrause57: ok? I need to fix my problems.
EntityX: Where do I find a windows 7 update for my battery then? I have powersaving on, batterybar, aerofoil and so on.

I cannot believe that no one else here have windows 7 on their 4810tg. My problems are well-known.

I wasn't referring to a battery driver I meant it for your gpu. You said that the graphics wouldn't switch from dedicated to discrete.

So try earlier versions or reinstalling them. Open up device manager and make sure none of your hardware has any conflicts.

Since you are getting low fps, and your hdmi isn't working it must be your gpu

For HDMI, you probably need to be on the ATi card.

Also, are you sure that the switching is automatic?

Are you guys joking with me? All my problems are well-known! Windows 7 and Timeline 4810TG was not made to be when my drivers were made! New drivers are not to be found, at least not official ones. I cannot reinstall old drivers when they are not working with my OS.

    Look: http://www.theacerguy.com/forum/topic/acer-aspire-4810tg

So then why are you posting? If you want to troll go some where else

GPU drivers aren't laptop specific, except for a few rare cases. If you have an ati card
go download the new 10.3 if they support your card, or get the older ones.

    No good drivers.

Well, to ask my questions better:

Are there any drivers out there to w7 which can get my hdmi, dedicated gpu(4330), automatic switching between gpu's and get my batterylife to work properly (<8hours)?

Try new catalyst drives support the mobility versions from ATI. Try them for your hdmi problems.

What is this 'automatic switching between GPUs'? I thought that was only nVidia Optimus..

Not working with your OS? How old is your laptop? a LOT (80%+) of Vista drivers work with 7 or are the SAME driver just renamed.

Relax, the Timelines work great with Windows 7. Your problem is you have a TG switchable graphics model and haven't installed the correct video driver so both videocards are on.

The correct drivers for switchable graphics have been available for a long time on Acer's website. Download and install only the ATI Driver for your TG model (the "ATI" driver includes both Intel and ATI drivers for Switchable graphics).

    http://support.acer.com/drivers_download.aspx

    Notebook > Aspire > Aspire 4810TG
    Operating System > Windows 7 Ultimate x64

But even with correct drivers, there is a known bug with switchable graphics mode - if you Standby and Resume, both videocards will be on and battery life will suck. This can be worked around by switching graphics twice after the Resume. Or just go into the BIOS and switch to Discrete graphics only.

All Timeline TG versions do not work correctly. After standby mode they drain way too much battery power. This is the case with Windows 7 and Vista. Acer is a lousy company and does not look to correct that problem!

I sold my Timeline and got an Asus UL30. A much better notebook. Longer battery run time, better keyboard, much better speakers and the same size.

For the 3810TG there's a modded BIOS that enables "Intel-only" graphics so we don't have that stupid standby mode problem anymore.

I think that problem is not limited to Acer only. Lenovo laptops with similar swithable graphics also have the same problem.

With that BIOS setting we do not get the promised battery run time. Poor solution!

You've not noticed that I was referring to a new MODDED BIOS.

In the modded BIOS there are "Intel only" and "ATI only" graphics settings. And you do get the promised runtime with the "Intel only" setting which disables the ATI chip completely, making the 3810TG act like a 3810T.

In the un-modded Acer BIOS there is only "Switchable" and "Discrete (ATI only)".

Its a shame Acer doesn't give us the "Intel only" setting in the standard BIOS.
