    Windows 7 - inst. 32 or 64 bit?

    I have a laptop - 8920G Should I install 32 or 64 bit windows 7? Any advantage or disadvantage over one or the other? thanks

    The biggest advantage is 64 bit will allow you to access over 3.5 gig of ram. 64 bit OS will run 32 or 64 software while a 32 bit OS will not run 64 bit software.

    But keep in mind that there might be some issues running legacy 32-bit software in 64-bit Windows. But if it worked with Vista x64 it'll be fine with Win 7 x64.

    Bottom line is though, probably best preference is for 64-bit. That's the way of the future apparently. Rumor has it that the next Windows OS will be 64-bit only. Fine by me.

    there are people still out there with lesser RAM and resources which still like 32 bit OS :p :D
