i saw a registry enrty you can remove that disables the Wifi LED...

search for WIFI registry modification or WiFI led registry and you may just find it...

if you can't i'll dig around and see if i can find it... but i've got 2 other ppl i'm helping in front of you... hang loose and i'll try to locate it as quick as i can

God has found the other thread on disabling the Wifi LED:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=233229
God also has the Atheros AR5007EG wireless adapter but in an Aspire 7250. God tried to find the "gpio" keys in the registry but they do not exist. God checked the BIOS to see if he could turn the LED off. God did not find anything.

God wants to turn all the LEDs off on his laptop, not just for Wifi. God tried Microsoft.com and searched Google.com on how to disable laptop LEDs through the registry. God found this website.

God does not want to take his laptop apart and he does not like tapping over LEDs. God wants your help. God wants to know why manufacturers think blinking LEDs are a good idea. God wants to lynch someone.

Hi Bigozone, and thanks for your kindness :)

As "God" :)eek :), I´ve also found that post, but it´s for Atheros lan adapter, while my 7720G has Intel PRO 3945ABG, so I´ve search for thar registry keys but no luck finding them.

I´ll wait for your search results, once again, huge thanks ;)

PD: Hoggie, thanks for the laughs :D

    I am your master!

I actually got my wifi led to shut off!!! From the thread I linked to before:

What you actually have to do is search for 4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 in the Windows registry and manually look through the keys in that folder for the gpio values to delete. The f-ing search function in Regedit won't show the gpio keys in a search! You actually have to find them another way.

Now, with that out of the way, does anyone know how to disable the blinking led light for the hard drive?

Don't disable the hard drive led, it will give you value information.

    For the Intel 4965AGN, look for "Ledmode" under HKLM\System\Currentcontrolset\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

and change the value to 0. Then reboot.

Thanks for your response Discrucio :)

In effect, modifying that registry entry will result in "spent" wi-fi led. Altough it´s useful, I´m looking for something to stop the "blink", not to permanently disable this led.

    Thank you anyway ;)

    Kind Regards :D

    Probably a stupid question, but...

Why would you want to disable the LEDs? Wouldn't you want your PC to tell you everything's working properly?

In Ubuntu, while I can use the wi-fi connection, I have no status LED to tell me it's working. It's frustrating.

I grew up with Star Trek, and I'm used to blinky lights and such.

Ok ..... here is how it goes .

Get a large rock , and knock your heads with it ... :D

    Simple steps .
    1) Launch ACER ePower management .
    2) under the DC panel , there is one option ,
called as " Create Power Scheme " click on it

    3) Give your name as title , select what you like as options , and click OK .

    4) Under the default AC power Scheme , its your new one now .
    5) Give it a simple click on-it , and it will became your default AC power Scheme .

    Any questions ??? ;)
