    Hello,
I'm doing a market research to find out what notebook should I buy. That 3810 is a fine candidate, but I want to know some stuff from people who own it:
    1) Is the keyboard comfortable for long writing? I'm comming from a desktop keyboard and I've never wrtitten more than 10 mins on a laptop keyboard.
    2) Is the keyboard getting durty very quick? From the pictures I've seen there are large gaps between the keys.
    3) What is the max angle for lid opening? Is it suitable for a lap work?
    4) What is the feeling of the touchpad button? I've read it is very hard to press.
    5) Multitasking? Performance? How easy is to put that machine into heavy load? That Core Solo 3500 bothers me. Currently I have a Pentium 4 3GHz (Prescot) and I don't want to downgrade significantly :)
    6) Does the DDR3 RAM worth it? Is there significant difference in feeling a 667MHz RAM and 1066MHz RAM?
    7) Does the battery last that long as the ads say? 7 hours of moderate usage - will it hold?

    Regards,
    Ivan.

I think Keyboards are something to get used to.
How dirty it gets depend on how you use your laptop
The pic of the max angle is somewhere here just do a search.
Again I would say it is hard to press just need getting used to also you can use Synaptic Touchpad functions to double as buttons
Solo isn't exactly good at multitasking
You cannot compare P4 3GHZ to Core Solo as one is using Netburst architecture and one is using Core architecture the instruction per clock is different go passmark website to look at the benchmark result for more info.
RAM doesn't matter most of the time because the front side bus is hardly saturated unless you are gaming
Yes the battery claim does hold water.
If you keep draining the battery to less than 10 percent each time you shorten the battery life.

There are no "feeling" to laptop brands however there is one brand whose looks can degenerate an adult to a childish superficial kid who can't differentiate cost and value.
They frequently like to show off their identical acquired overpriced system to their peers when they already know their machines are completely the same and feel so proud of it.

You would probably get a better response posting in the owner's thread as more people look into that thread. I can't comment on #5 and #6 but other then that I'll give you my opinion.

    1) Very comfortable and since the laptop does not get hot it is a lot more manageable as well.

    2) No, the keyboard does not get dirty but it is glossy so it is a finger print magnet. Just clean it like you would a trophy and you'll be fine.

    3) Suitable for lap work, but I wish it had full rotation.

    4) The touch pad button is actually like you would expect it to be after hearing. It was very hard to get use to but then you get the hang of how to deal with the firmness.

    5) My multitasking doesn't consist of more than a few background programs, IM, flash video or downloaded video and browser together so I can't really comment here, but it does very well on that. No problems whatsoever... However, I have the core 2 duo model.

    7) The battery gets much more than 7 hours for doing moderate tasks (web browsing, typing, IMing, occaisional video :) ) I use power saver as I don't need power and I pull over 8 hours easily on a charge, Highest being close to 10.

    Hope that helps you.

Core 2 Solo is an upgrade over the Pentium 4. DDR3 over DDR2, I don't even notice it. Battery life is easily over 7 hours with brightness at lowest and wifi on.

I am a recent owner so here is my two cents, I have the 3810T-6775.

    1. Great keyboard for a laptop, however you cant compare to a desktop keyboard. Desktop is always better.

    2. No more than any other laptop. Dont eat and drop crumbs on mine though.

    3. Opens greater than 110 degrees, yes very suitable for lap work.

    4. Typical touchpad, I use the synaptic feature and usually dont use the button's very oftern.

    5. If you are worried about and can afford the difference in price the Core 2 Duo is the better bet.

    6. Not a significant factor, the machine is fast and has plenty of RAM.

    7. Yep this laptop will last 8 hours on the econ mode and at least 5 or 6 in the balanced mode. It clearly lasts longer than ANY laptop I have ever used.
