I've been wondering exactly how much it helps.
I've removed ePower and most of the Empowering tools because they're either slow or not useful, but I have no idea if removing ePerformance will actually slow down my computer or not.

    Any help?

i've uninstalled everything. ePorformance does help booting up a little faster, but uninstalling won't drastically increase your time. Overall, there wasn't a signigicant performance decrease, in fact, i can say it sped things up (less memory usage, less processes, etc.)

I don't regret uninstalling the whole e suite.

Okie-doke. I'll do a system restore point first, just to be safe.
On a bit of a tangent, are any OEM's software actually decent?

I've read that using the particularly branded power management software is usually a lot more efficient and successful then using the default Windows solution. wouldn't it be wise to keep the Acer ePower or whatever?

why do you need it ?
all it is is a posh front end for a utility windows already has.it uses loads of memory which vista needs for its new prefetch file system.so you need as much free ram as you can get.
