Can you eject by right clicking in Windows? Personally I would send it back and get a replacement.

yeah u can eject through windows as well.. the drive very nice and works very well.. .. all i got was a general manual whihc talks abt Acer 1690 series and i dint not get a specific manual for my model (Acer 1694) and thas the reason for all those Chaos.

but here i got another doubt. on my laptop i can use my Fn key + up/Down Arrow to increase/Decrease the sound. i am not able to do that using Fn right now , thou i did that yesterday.. why ?? any siggestions?

Did you by any chance remove a program called the "Launch Manager". I think it controls all the specific FN & non standard key functions...

If the Aspire 1694 comes with the same Acer software as the 5024, for some reason they have quite a few programs controlling this now. I believe OSDCtrl.exe must be running, as well as CtrlVol.exe and HotKeyApp.exe
Extremely annoying if you ask me, as they take up memory.
