I recently purchased Windows Vista Business for my Travelmate 4502wlmi after I also acquired extra ram to support the new OS. However after installing, the OS now doesn’t recognize the batteries and as a result, Mobility Center is not installed and the laptop is not recognized as a laptop. Instead is it like a workstation, and when the battery is depleted, the system just shuts down without warning since there are no drivers/program for maintaining the battery or energy levels.
Under device manager, a unknown device is listed (the battery) and is entitled as ACPI0001... and Microsoft SMART Battery Subsystem.

Since the computer is listed as Vista Capable (at http://global.acer.com/products/notebook/tm4500.htm) I am somewhat confused…

Also, the fn+f5 key for a external monitor is not working...

So, anyone know of a solution to this? I am very disappointed at Acer right now...
