    Is anyone a UBUNTU LINUX user? If so, could they give me a messenger adress or a mail adress so I can ask them a couple of things... I am planning to install UBUNTU and I'm not yet convinced... please, anyone... i'm really looking forward to get rid of windows.. sometimes it sucks soooo much... thanks in advance

    I use Ubuntu on my 8204 as well as XP, seems to work quite well so far although I'm not playing in it THAT much.

    I just want to know the following:

    - if I have two partitions, can I install UBUNTU without affecting my second partition (which is NTFS), without erasing it or modifying it?
    - how can I connect via LAN UBUNTU with Windows?
    - is there a torrent client for UBUNTU?
    - is there Yahoo Messenger in UBUNTU (it's kinda the only way I keep up with friends gone far away)
    - are there games or can I convert old games for UBUNTU (Monkey Island, Broken Sword 1 and 2 etc...)
    - are there any incompatibility issues in UBUNTU (battery, drivers and stuff and where do I get the drivers)

    I feel like a small kid who just found out a new toy... never mind, just laughing by miself and of myself...

    YES, but GRUB will take over the windows bootloader. AND, there is a 1 out of 1000 chance that your windows might become boot sectors might fail, but I wouldn't worry. Just a slight warning. IT'S SAFE TO INSTALL.

    I never actually did that before, but it should not be to hard. Probally as easy as the windows network settings.

    YES ...... http://releases.ubuntu.com/6.10/ SCROLL DOWN for the right one.

    Yes, you can use GAIM or select other messengers with Yahoo account.

    Not sure ....Maybe Wine or a VM would help.

    Depends on your notebook and what drivers you need.
    I wouldn't worry about the main drivers tho ...... maybe a cam driver issue or such.
