My DVD burner detects all of my blank CD-Rs as 4x-8x instead of 40x-48x (Phillips and Imation). Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix? I looked for new DVD-specific drivers but could not find any. Maybe they are in one of the other driver packs, like the Intel AMT or chipset drivers? Or is it possible that it's just an NTI software problem?
Also, getting external displays working right is problematic. Everytime I connect with the ezdock, my external display immediately becomes the primary display. It even allows me to logon to windows. That's the good news. The bad news is that it automatically extends the desktop to the laptops lcd. I would prefer that it disables the laptop lcd instead. When I try to disable it manually, I get horizontal striping on the laptop display. I also cannot get the two displays to mirror each other; the secondary display always ends up with that horizontal striping. The only way I can seem to get the laptop lcd to turn off is to disable one of the displays (getting horizontal striping), then use the Fn+F5 function. But I don't want to have to do this everytime I dock at work.
I thought about disconnecting the DVI cable from the ezdock and plugging it directly into the laptop, but the ezdock takes over the laptop DVI port. Also, I checked the diplays listing in Hardware Manager and there are 4 displays listed: 2 Default monitors, a Plug and Play Monitor, and a Viewsonic VZ20205w. I tried uninstalling all but one Default monitor, but they all came back at the next reboot. Any ideas?
