Ok, now that the cat is out of the bag.

    http://global.acer.com/about/news.asp?id=6642

I can give some details to the X1600 laptop that I have been mentioning here and there.

Acer Travelamte 8200 (spec is for the top model, don't know how many variants they will be producing)

    Yonah CPU , 15.4" WSXGA+ screen, 1GB DDR2 533/677, 120GB SATA 5400rpm HD, 256MB DDR3 X1600, DVD-DL burner, Built-in 1.3 Mega pixel camera, Intel Pro wireless 3945 a/b/g, VOIP, 6.6lbs and 6 hours of batterylife (87W 7800mAH vs 71W 4800mAH on 8100) and of course the Carbon Fiber lid.

Before Yonah got delayed, they were shooting for end of Dec but now the latest I heard is that they will have sample at the Winter CES in Vegas with actual shipment probably in Feb.

Id say it would be at least 2200 but most likely around 2500.

Anyone who bought the Ferrari 4005WLMi this year is secretly hoping that the 2006 Ferrari(s) aren't very good :D It's highly satisfying when your outdated version is still closely up to par with it's future models! hehehe

Will this notebook be available with a glossy screen?

(I'm not entirely sure that I really need a glossy screen; it might be that most laptop LCDs I've seen are either glossy and not too bad or non-glossy and really dark or have bad color balance. Or, maybe all the display models of laptops with decent non-glossy screens had their brightness turned low.)

I'm looking to buy a Yonah laptop when they become available, and this might be it (depending on the price.) Might go with something cheaper in case of failure/loss/etc...

    HERE ARE THE Specs:

There are 2 models i think?

    The Highest model has:
    Yonah DC 2.0
    2gb Ram
    X1600 256 (512 hypermem)
    3946ABG
    120gb @ 5400 rpm

This laptop is pretty much fully loaded with bells and whistles, even Bluetooth VOIP!!

Price is around 2500 USD, which is **** CHEAP!! (Affordable)

The lower End version, well i dunno the specs but expect it to be 2000 USD.

Also Battery Life is 4 hours on the DOT!, undervolt and u can bring this baby to 4.5-5 depending on what ur doing :D

    BTW Here's the ALMIGHTY review!!

I think they make you fork over an arm and a leg for including 2 GB memory by default. Not to mention the 2.0 GHz model rather than the 1.86 GHz model. The only thing this laptop is missing is the glossy, bright screen, which for certain applications, is really useful.

$2500 is hella cheap for the specs! Compare it to a dumb Dell 9300
