After you adjust the touchpad properties like double click speed and cursor speed is there a way to keep these settings? Everytime the computer restarts I have to go back into touchpad mouse properties and readjust everything. thanks

Well yeah, normally when you adjust the settings and click "OK" or "Apply" then "OK" the settings are saved. Double check the general settings, maybe there is an option like "apply these settings on startup" or something like that. If you cannot find anything like this you may try to reinstall the touchpad software..

It's a 8920G and i don't see anything like apply these settings at startup. I upgraded the touchpad driver last week and it still does not retain the settings. I have to go into touchpad settings everytime the laptop starts. Anyone else know how to fix this?

Is your touchpad software actually starting at boot? Had that issue with the GFs 5720, and discovered that the Alps utility was disabled in the startup services (msconfig.exe). Worth a shot...

Touchpad will work without the manuf specific drivers, using Windows default drivers. Functionality will be diminished, and apparently every session is a new life for Windows...for some reason...
