I have a 5810TZG basically it has an INTEL 4500MHD and a ATI HD4330 , I did a search and found only 2 other TZG results.

I bought a 5810T with only the INTEL 4500MHD , but returned it for a more powerful gpu.

So what does the Z in TZG mean.

    What other versions are there.

Also the switchable graphics only work with the Acer drivers, I have tried v9.12 and above and get a blank screen unless i select dedicated ati only in the bios.

So it looks like we are stuck with catalyst v8.65 if i want switchable graphics or are we?

    Thanks.

10.1 is a desktop driver and has to be modded to work with a notebook and mobile modder does not work with 10.1 at the moment so it would have to be modded by hand, and that is before we get into switchable support.

I will give it a go, but it`s the switchable support that is my main problem, what notebook do you have.

It seems to have worked i did a install of 10.1 directly over 8.65 to keep any switching software intact , and dxdiag says i have 10.1 installed , though i cannot find 10.1 mentioned in the system information in CCC under information center, the switching does appear to still work.

I will do a clean install tomorrow of 10.1 and if it works i will give you REP

If now i could make it stay on the INTEL even after a re-boot as it normally switches to the ATI after a few seconds.

    Thanks for the help :)

Lol. ATI has had switchable graphics in their drivers for a LONG time now, Its just that they don't come with an Intel driver capable of it.

Oh, and the 10.1 driver that you linked to is.... Special. Its not overriding the Intel driver like most do.

That's a good find. Anyone tried yet to install the latest Intel driver, followed by this ATI 10.1 driver and see if the Switchable Graphics for both are working? That way we can get the latest Intel and ATI drivers!

dont install the last intel driver...it will break down the whole graphic system...i tried that yesterday and I need about 1 hours to get it fixed with the acer driver...Intel Driver works, but it there is no possibillity to change to either ati oder intel only, both graphics are ON and drain power... (temperature rises to about 60° while using windows)...
Do not even think about deinstalling your Acer Intel driver!
Use atis 10.1 which is fairly good (I dont think that it remembers which graphics is activated on AC-shutdown, so there is no real advance...but it could be that there is a better power management...I got about 11 to 12 W with actived ati in battery mode...)
