    Hi Acer notebook owners,

I am thinking of purchasing from Buy.com a 5672, Buy.com is offering a 2-year extended warranty, Acer website also offer extended warranty.

Has anyone purchase it? It seems Buy.com's extended service warranty is a bit cheaper and will pick up the cost of the shipping to the manufacturer.

Any opinion on this please contribute.

    Thanks!

hi ia an acer owner and i will let you know a little about my experiance with my acer
    it is great!!!

i when form a 6 month old toshiba to my aspire 3503 and they are very touch i bike 4 miles to school every day with the computer stapped to my back going over curbes and even a few wipouts and it is still working; ten months latter . well it depends how how much the warrenty is and when are you going to upgrade for this new acer in a year tehn don't get it but if you want it to last a LEAST two years with coverage it would be a good idea. i have 3 year stapels warrenty on mine and we find if you buy buy.coms or stapes or who evers extra warrenty you will get better sirvice. one other thing is all computer manufactures will ocasionally ship out a dud and will a problem as long as you own it if you have etened warrenty they might be more open t excange it if something does happen to it.

what ever you chose to do i hope you enjoy your acer as much as i am

I'd wait for 3 weeks if I were you. The new 5672 "revision" is going to have a X1600 GPU.

thanks for the replies so far:

The concesus I got so far is:
Yes, do buy the extedended warranty and preferrably from a company other than Acer

and thanks to CY007 for sharing the info on the 1600... I am just wondering if I wait, would I be missing the deal offered by buy.com at $999 for the notebook computer now? Another word, will Acer raise the price of the "revised" 5672??

    thanks!
