There's something wrong with the sound on my Aspire 5720

So I got a new Acer two weeks ago, and it was pretty slow, so I started deleting some of the useless programs on it (like the games and stuff). I also deleted the Empowering Technology feature, which I'm starting to think is the reason why my sound is screwed up. Now, when I try to play a song, it plays fine for a while (sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 2 seconds) then makes a crackling sound and stops. But it know the problem isn't in the speakers, because when I plug in headphones, the same thing happens.

Has this happened to anyone else, or is it just me?

Does this happen with any media player? Does the player act like it continues?

It does that for all media files and players, even online video clips. The sound stops, and then player continues, but it's slower.

Well, see if you can reinstall the Empowering Technology that you think is the problem; you might have it on a CD that came with your PC, or perhaps you can get it online.

If that's not the problem, it's probably your sound card, in which case I would be calling Acer.

Has this always happened since you got it?
