    As I have posted in a couple of places here, I am in the process of replacing my Aspire 2000. Based on what I can see on the Acer Canada web site, the TM 6592 with XP Pro should be a good fit for what I need from a business machine. Acer suggested retail is $1,299 CDN.

    Just doing my due diligence, any one with any experience with this specific model? I can find almost nothing on the 'net, so thought I would ask.

    Specs I am looking at are:

    TM6592-6963

    Genuine Windows® XP Professional; English/French OS (user must make one-time choice of language on first start-up);
    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T7500 (4MB L2 cache, 2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB);
    2GB (1/1) DDR2 667 SDRAM;
    250GB SATA hard drive;
    modular Super-Multi drive (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM);
    5-in-1 card reader;
    15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) TFT display;
    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD X2400 XT graphics;
    802.11a/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth®, Bluetooth® VoIP phone, gigabit LAN, V.92 modem, integrated webcam;
    fingerprint reader;
    eight-cell battery

    I will also get a docking station , probably Acre's ezDock II as well as a 19 or 21" monitor.

    Thanks for any input.

    And Happy Dominion Day to my fellow Cancuks!

    the travelmate range is for the business user and has a more robust build than the aspire range. which is more for the home user.
    we are at the moment in the early stages of setting up a thread for the business user.
    so watch this space :)

    Happy Dominion Day Trainman

    all the best,
    Phil :D

    Thanks Phil, I am using this as a business machine. I bought the Aspire 4 years ago as it was the best suited for the work at the time.

    I look forward to the business section, thats a great idea.

    Also, I just submitted a review I found for a TM 6592G-832G25N, hopefully it will be useful for some, it was for me.

    Dominion Day, steaks and chicken on the BBQ and a few cold ones. It will be good, thanks.
