    Hi all,
I bought Acer TM 4720 which comes with Windows Vista which i am not quite comfortable with. So, i installed Windows XP Pro + SP2. I downloaded drivers from Acer website and installed the drivers. Now, my laptop upon standby/hibernation,restart shows blue screen and hangs without resuming back to login propmt or desktop. Even shutdown also hangs the same way. I could only stop the m/c by pressing the power button.
I tried all possible solution from internet. No use..Need ur help guys..

    Cheers,
    M.Rajmohan

Have you downloaded all the available critical updates and hotfixes from Windows Update? Because I believe there was a fix for a hibernation problem exactly like this awhile back. Barring that, it may be a RAM problem. You might want to try burning a bootable CD of Memtest86 and having it test your RAM. Additionally, you might want to try testing the hibernation/standby mode with just one stick of RAM installed at a time, to establish if one or the other is the culprit.
