Has anyone ever experienced their speakers switching off without any reason whatsoever???? Sometimes they work all day, no probs, days even. Then, they switch off..sometimes in quick succesion, switching them on being only possible by re-booting. This is very annoying. Hope someone can help. My model is ASPIRE 9302.

Am I REALLY the only one with this problem?? I'm happy to hear that...but that doesn't help me, sigh.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Could you try a couple of things for me?

1 - Run windows media player and play some music on a loop. When the audio stops, close media player. Then re-open windows media (Without rebooting) and see if the music still plays? (If its anything like my issue, it will work :p)

2 - Restart your laptop, and during POST (when you get the White Acer screen), boot into the bios. F2 i think. Repeatedly press it until you get the bios screen loaded up.
DO NOT CHANGE ANY SETTINGS HERE!! YOU COULD DAMAGE YOUR SYSTEM!!
At the top of the screen, it should tell you some information. Make a note of whether it says "Pheonix" or "InsideH20".
Then read down the screen and make a note of the Bios version.
Press escape to exit and ensure to discard changes.

3 - Can you check up on the version of your audio drivers?
(Right click on the orange speaker in the system tray in the bottom right of your screen, click on sound manager and then click on the " i" button and make a note of the driver version)

Then post all the results on this thread.

    Cheers, :D
