Some beer was spilt on my acer travelmate 4051 a week ago and the keypad has completely died, I have taken the keys off and tried to dry in side, while wiping off any remaining residue but the problem seems to have gotten worse,
Is there anyway to fix it?
Can the acer travelmate 4052 keypad be replaced?
Is there anyway to get another keypad connected to log on and save my files on the hard-drive?
    Im new to this! Thanks

Have you tried connecting a external keyboard to it and see if it works? my other laptops could be accessed via external USB keyboard...not too sure if it'll work on the 4501....but you never know...good luck!

    Cheers!

if you can't get a keyboard to work, take the hard drive out and slave it to a desktop computer using an external drive case

If there's no corroson, you could try rinsing the keypad with warm (not hot!) water (to dissolve any sugar etc.) and drying with a hair dryer - don't use hard water as this will leave it's own residue. Good luck, Mike K.
