I received my shinza zeroshock laptop sleve for my Acer 4501 (finally) and was initially upset because it was smaller than my laptop, I could see no way my computer was to fit inside it. However, to my surprise, the sleeve is very stretchable and accomodates my 4501 nicely. It is made of material a lot like the memory pillows some of you may be familiar with. I basically purchased this sleeve for use inside my laptop backpack for additional protection against impact etc. I would not recommend this as the only protection for your laptop (no handles, extra pockets etc). I will post some pics soon (have to figure out how to do it within a post etc). Go to www.shinza.com for the description of this product as well as other reviews if interested. Post here for any questons for me, as I said earlier, I will try to post pics asap.

    Here they are,
Pic 1 is a side by side view

Pic 2 is a view of how for the notebook sticks out of the sleeve before you have to stretch the material to zip it up (no big deal, actually provides a snug fit).

Pic 3 is a shot of the "memory" feel to the sleeve. You should be able to see the impression of the pair of scissors.

great to hear it fits the bag-- is it worth the money you think?
i won a contest in singapore adn got a samsonite good padded backpack and am planning to put this inside that. One of the previous posts i dug up that link-- to the backpack. what backpack are you putting the shinza in?
is the 40ish $ worth it compared to the targus and stuff advertised for 20 on amazon? i mean i am really wondering if this sleeve is worth it considering www.techbargains.com has a deal for a amazon backpack for about 20$ which is considerably lower. any suggestions? Joe or the others please do tell me.

I havent really seen any other sleeves, so theres probably plenty out there that will do it for you. I just bought this one because it had rave reviews from everyone on another notebook forum. It fits snug and seems to offer decent protection (which when combined with the backpack I bought is great).

No 1600, I just never changed the pic when I signed up. As far as I know the shinza sleeves are imported from Japan so the only place I found them was online. I chose black so it wouldn't show dirt as much etc.

    Good luck

btw, if you plan on ordering from www.shinza.com, the shippingakes a while.

That briefcase looks fine for an "all in one" deal. I used to have a Targus case for another notebook and it was nice (if you like carrying a briefcase). My needs dictated a backpack and I bought the shinza sleeve for extra protection within the backpack.

If any of you folks do find a good shell/case/sleeve for the 4501 besides the Zeroshock, please let us know. I'm planning to carry my notebook right along with my physics textbooks, so I don't want any corners doing a number on the LCD...

I ordered a SleeveCase from www.sfbags.com. I found a bunch of really great reviews on it so it should be good.

Thanks for posting the review/photos, I might order one. The only thing stopping me Is that I would prefer some sort of hard case like the Crumpler School Hymn. Anyone have any experience of whether the Crumpler 15" School Hymn will fit the 4501 as according to my basic calculations It won't fit (http://www.bagsforme.com/bags/CR-SCH15 - sleeve dimensions)
