Hey there! I have a big problem with my Acer laptop. It's about 11 months old, and im using vista and xp as dual boot. I always use vista, and the laptop randomly restarts itself about an hour or sometimes more after i turn it on. It sucks cause many times im in the middle of something and i lose a lot of data. Could it be because of overheating, because whenever tis happens the laptop is usually hot. I have a little warranty left, do you think i can send it to Acer? Thanks for your help!

This most likely sounds like a hardware issue, probably over heating. If its not that then you could have a strong virus that shutsdown the windows scvhost service. But im willing to bet on it being a heating problem since you said it happens when its hot. Does it happen if the computer is just idle? or does it happen when it is under heavy use? I would deff take advantege of your warranty while you still have it, you have nothing to lose..

I think you should probably try reformatting the entire system.
Which model do you have btw? -
It's an aspire 3618AWLMi. I will send it to Acer ASAP and update on what happened here.
