    Hi all,

My Acer Aspire 5740g turns off without warning and reboots.

    Notes:

    - No BSOD / Error
    - Turns off sometimes after 1 sec. Might even work for 60 secs.
    - Turns off even in BIOS
    - Power light goes out
    - Restarts in 2 secs and repeats

Any ideas? Is a repair possible?

    Laptop is 3 years old...

Check is RAM modules are at fault by replacing testing them one by one in each slot and if possible testing different modules.
Does the fat start? Did you clean out the vents? It's unlikely that it would overheat that quickly but you never know.

Does it happen both on battery and with PSU connected but without battery?
