Question re "Get Quicker Internet Confirmation" Tweak

I now have this excellent and friendly forum on my RSS feed and thanks to bangert's post yesterday I have been reading and then implementing some of Les Tokar's fine tweaks.

However, due to my limited technical knowledge, I have a question related to the tweak called "Get Quicker Internet Confirmation"

In his Note at the bottom of the tweak description Les says "It is not so good if you are at home or work with a LAN or server configuration"

I wonder whether someone would be kind enough to clarify this for me.

I am at home on a single laptop connected to the Internet by cable modem.

Does this proviso apply to me ? Can I use the tweak safely ?

I guess this tweak is not adviced for any kind of LANs(wired/wireless and home/work) and since you don't have a LAN in your house(you said you have one laptop only) I think you can apply this tweak safely.

I just want to add that there is no need to create another thread in another forum to ask that, next time just use the thread where the guide is for asking questions about it.
