    Hi guys,

    1) I might be getting the 5672WLMI and I would just like to know if there are any problems with it in terms of screen quality (light leakages, viewing angles and color) or build quality like the stiffness of the case (flexing of case or keyboard) compared to something like the Dell e1505 or something in the range?

    2) Is there any quality differences of the notebook built from the beginning of this year to today?

    3) Would you guys think this notebook would last a long time?

    4) Also, do you guys think the t2300e is enough in a notebook today?

    Sorry for all the questions.
    :D

I have a aspire 5672WLMi. Screen is fantastic besides one stuck pixel that I barely notice. (No light leakage and case isn't really that flexible) One snag about the lid is that when I type it vibrates which can be soem slight annoyances.

Build quality is ok, I'm still annoyed with a non-functional upscroll button though I've got myself an external mouse now. Battery life is only 3 hours and personally I don't find heat much of an issue.

T2300 is enough for processing actually, all you need to do is remove all the garbage that acer has installed with it and your notebook would run pretty fast.

I bought mine back in March, and not had any problems with mine. Scroll button didn't work with Firefox right away, but there is a fix for that. The keyboard feels like it's getting a little loose under the W,A,S,D keys, but playing WoW will do that. ;) I'll probably keep it through next year.

About the lack or worry about the CPU speed. Please try to drill this into your head after Intel was all about the clock speed and how "3.2ghz was the bomb" or higher ghz = better. Well this is simply not true, the more work or "cycles" per clock speed is better. This is why 1.6ghz is not the same as 1.6ghz p4 back in the day, because I can do 2 or 3 things per cycle that a single clock did on an early p4.

The laptop is great, I'm enoying playing wow on it and other great games.

Spankyou so much for the help guys. I just got the 5672 with the 1gb ram, x1600, and the other stuff for a really nice price of $999CAD before tax. I'm really excited and thanks for calming me down about my doubts of the case build quality. :)

Thanks man, I was just wondering cus I never had a duo core before. At first I was planning on getting the dell e1505, but their prices are quite steep in Canada so I just had to get this one because of the very nice price/feature ratio. :D

Also, do you guys know the manufacturer of the lcd panel? Is it like Dell where they have different suppliers, the good, the bad and the ugly kind of thing?

Does all acers use auo panels since they are kind of the same company or cmo too?

According to Everest Pro Ed. 2006 mine says that it is made by Quanta?

Check the image, I'm not sure. Overall I've been VERY happy with their screens. So happy that it is 100% better than ANY dell monitor because they don't bleed and look like hell like found in those dell's.

I just installed everest and checked. I have the AUO monitor! I was wondering why it is not as bright and nice as the reviews I was reading. Does Acer replace it if you are pissed? I think I already know the answer to that... :(

Well, increase the light level, and be prepared for your touchpad to boil eggs. Plus bright light will make you get cataracts...

The answer is no, unless the screen is really messed up. Acer cuts costs by using bad OEM manufactuers sometimes and really rubbish service. But overall, I'm still happy with my laptop.
