    Hi!

Sorry but i don't speak english very well. i need help please.

    I have a acer 5920g with a 8600m gs 256mb ddr2.
my bios is last version 1.3813 and my vga bios version is nvidia 60.86.54.00.27. The chipset is pm965. The vga is MXMII

    I have obtained a 8600m gt 512mb ddr2 from a compal fl90 free. It's MXMII too

I've installed 8600m gt in my acer and when run it only see a black screen. Laptop is runnig but i don't have any image.

I've read somethig about a acer vga bios for the 8600m gt
but i don't know what i've to do.
I don't know if i have to install this bios in the 8600m gt in another laptop. There is something patch for this card?

This vga bios is possible to install in any 8600m gt?

    Please, can you help me?

    Thanks

It's either a faulty GPU (Nvidia's 8M series have faulty cards) or an incompatible VGA BIOS. You might have to blind flash a VGA BIOS from Acer onto the Compal card, but if that doesn't work it means the card is dead.

You could use nvflash to flash the VGA BIOS.

Sorry but as far as I know, Compal's GPUs are restricted. Means, it looks like an MXM GPU, but you can't use it in a laptop made from different brand. I wish you good luck with the BIOS flash, I hope that it would help you.

thanks kisetsu17 and thanks triturbo for yours answers.

Next weekend will install 8600m gt in compal and will try to install the acer vbios for the 8600m gt. After i hope 8600m gt runs in the acer.

If don't runs i think 8600m gt will go to trash jejeje!!

I will say you if all it's ok or if don't runs.

    Thanks
