I have an Acer Aspire 5742-7653. My computer has trouble charging. I have already replaced my power cord once because it stopped working, and on replacement it seemed to work normally again for a bit. However, now the power light blinks blue and does not charge. Sometimes it charges normally (which is how I can post this), but it is quite often that it is blinking.

Also, not sure if this is related or not, but it seems to overheat sometimes, even with a cooling pad (maybe the pad isn't good enough). Maybe the power supply powering one of the fans isn't working?

Anyway, not sure if you need any additional information.

    Thanks for the help!

It may be either a failing PSU (it would be useful to test a different one if possible) or there mat be a problem with a power jack in the laptop itself (may require re-soldiering)
