Hi, I'm considering buying the Acer Aspire 2001WLCI in a day or two. Mostly because
I know the guy in the store and hopefully will get some extra goodies with it =)

I wondered if someone could give me some feedback if this is a good choice, or if there is some mayor problems with it I should be aware of (except double ii).
I also wondered which notebook is best, the 2001WCLI or 291LCI, both at aprox. the same price.

    Thanks in advance
    Magnus

hi there, perhaps you would like to check out this link http://www.whatlaptop.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5162, its regarding the Aspire 2003WLMi, but I guess it will be pretty similiar if there were any problems with it. In my opinion, I'd rather not have the Arcade buttons as it gets in the way when I was using the touchpad. An Acer retail assistant told me something about CDs getting jammed in the slot loading tray. I do not know the degree of reliabilty of the slot loading tray, perhaps someone else can help me out here. I do prefer the slot loading tray though. It looks much cooler! As an alternative to this I've opted for the later model Aspire 2010 series, which I will probably purchase in the next few days. Unless some owner of 2010 series were to tell me that this series is prone to defects. But overall if you do not mind the arcade buttons below the touchpad then go for it! The widescreen is really a nice feature. [ :D]

They we're out of the 2001WLCI before I got there, only got test models left.
Think I'm going for Compaq X1000 instead.

Thanks for the quick reply anyway.
