    Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum so first of all I wanna say thanks for helping all the people in need of assistance. Ok, I have a Acer TravelMate 2420 that my sister gave me last year. I formatted the HD and wiped out the partition section on the HD. I found all the drivers that I needed except my wireless doesnt work. I have downloaded every different wireless driver from the acer site and nothing works. OH, my sister lost the Recovery Disc for this computer as well. When i go to my device manager, there is yellow "?" beside the following"

    Other devices:
    ------------- Network Controller?
    ------------- PCI Modem?

am i missing something or what??? lol

    thanks in advance

    Mastergrader :D

    Welcome to NBR.

PCI Modem is..obviously the modem ;)
Network controller can be the lan or the wireless. For this model Acer has 3 types of drivers(unbelievable!) - XP TM2420, XP TM2420 A and Vista TM2420. What OS do you have? If it's XP and you don't know if you have TM2420 or TM2420A you tried them both?
The naming of the drivers is awful so maybe you got confused. For wireless drivers you need to download what is called 80211bg(TM2420) or intel_80211abg(TM2420A). Hmm actually there are no Vista drivers for the wireless adapter...assuming that the card is Intel you'll have to go to downloadcenter.intel.com and get the driver from there.

If your Ethernet is working, you can try Windows Update.
