I just purchased a new 1414WLCI notebook, and I am having some small, nagging problems. One of the biggest problems is with Power Management. When the laptop is not plugged in, running from battery, it shows that the laptop is still running on AC power. Sometimes it switches automatically back to Battery for a few minutes, but it doesn't stay that way for long. I have reformated, reinstalled Windows. Like currently as I write this, I started with it showing I was on battery, half way through it switched to AC, and I didn't plug it in.

    Does anyone have any idea's?

I formated the laptop again and installed Windows XP SP1 on it, thinking it might be a problem with Service Pack 2, no luck.

This might not be a software problem (OS). You may want to check to see if there's an updated BIOS for this unit. Also, did you load the OS from the Acer recovery CD's? If so, try doing a manual load from scratch rather than using Acer's CD's. Right after the OS load (before any Acer drivers are installed), check to see if you're still having the same problem. If so, it's a hardware problem. This will generally need a systemboard replacement. You can try to see if you can get the unit replaced.
