    Hey guys!

I have an Asprire 5672WLMi. I need memory upgrades. If possible to 2 or 3 GB. Right now I have the default 1GB DDR2.

What do you guys suggest I get as an upgrade? I play WoW on this machine often which is a memory heavy game.

You can go up to 4gb of ddr2 pc5300 200 pin ram. I suggest going with 3 max if you have a 32bit OS.

XP will not support 4GB of RAM as adinu said but otherwise go for the full 4GB!

Ok, so 3gb since i'm on xp. Should I replace what is in there now or just add a 2gb one?

Actually, i'm not even sure if it is 2x 512 in there now or just 1x 1gb. I should probably take a look inside.

I upgraded my Aspire 5612z to 2Gb swapping 2 x 512Mb to 512mb+2gb total =2.5gb and you had to put the swapped module in a specific slot for it to work.

Some models have a slot under the memory cover and one under the motherboard/keyboard so it might be worthwhile finding out before you buy.
Mine were double stacked under the memory cover ..hou had to remove one to get at other.

If you use unmatched pairs there is a slight performance issue.
Be careful removing cover as there are hidden tabs (1mm wide on side of cover, some 'L' shaped) making it a harder extraction than just lifting it out after undoing screws. I used a blunt thin pointed knife to prise tabs out..you can feel them if you run instrument/knife along gap between cover.Try it at your own risk.

Also noticed downgrade in Vista graphics index when adding Ram. Most perculiar?? (Due to not being identical modules perhaps (Both DDR2 PC5300 667 CL=5 4-5-5-12 modules but different capacity). Probably more a clunky software issue rather than real effect as notebook feels a lot perkier!!

By the way Crucial ( www.crucial.com) do a Memory check tool that checks your onboard memory on line and makes a recommendation on compatible memory which I think they guarantee to work (or you money back??)

I noticed that cover problem today when I took it off to look at what I had inside, what a pain in the butt, they coulda really made that easier, haha. I got 4gb's for now (yes overkill) since I am planning on upgrading to vista anyways.
